Operations Manager

About the role

The Operations Manager will be based on‑site in Dar es Salaam and will lead day‑to‑day branch and field operations for Supreme Microfinance. The role ensures efficient, compliant, and client‑centered service delivery across the network.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily branch and field operations, including loan processing, portfolio quality, and client service standards.
• Plan, coordinate and monitor operational processes against performance targets.
• Supervise and coach branch managers and field teams, providing performance feedback and operational guidance.
• Collaborate with senior management to implement policies, risk controls and process improvements.
• Support audits, compliance reviews and reporting activities.
• Use operational data and KPIs to drive productivity and decision‑making while upholding the institution’s values of integrity and client protection.

Required profile

• Strong operations management experience, including process improvement and workflow optimisation.
• Proven ability to manage multiple branch and field locations.
• Solid understanding of microfinance or financial services, credit operations and risk/compliance practices.
• Demonstrated data analysis and reporting skills with a focus on operational KPIs.
• People leadership experience: team supervision, coaching, performance evaluation and conflict resolution.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Management or related field; postgraduate qualification or professional certification is a plus.
