Junior Software Engineer

About the role

FastHub Solutions Limited is looking for a motivated Junior Software Engineer to join its growing development team. You will work on high‑performance, service‑oriented applications that support telecom and technology clients across Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze, maintain and enhance existing software to ensure reliability, performance and security.
• Design and develop high‑volume, high‑availability backend, frontend and mobile components.
• Translate customer requirements into technical designs and implement robust, secure features.
• Write clean, reusable, testable code and participate in unit, integration and code‑review processes.
• Identify technical risks, communicate issues to the project manager and prioritize tasks across multiple projects.
• Stay up‑to‑date with emerging technologies, frameworks and security best practices.

Required profile

• Entry‑to‑mid level developer with a strong interest in building scalable applications.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and customers.
• Understanding of secure coding principles and basic application security.
• Comfortable working in an agile, continuous‑integration environment.

Required skills

• Core Java and advanced Java (J2EE).
• Spring ecosystem – Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Spring Security.
• Play Framework for Java.
• RESTful APIs, SOAP web services and API design.
• SQL and relational database management.
• NoSQL databases – MongoDB.
• Mobile/cross‑platform development – Flutter, React Native, native Android/iOS.
• Frontend development – React.
• Secure coding fundamentals and basic application security practices.
