Informatics Officer – Data Analytics & EMR Support

About the role

The Informatics Officer will work under the Senior Informatics Manager and the Senior Strategic Results Manager to support data‑driven decision‑making across EGPAF programmes in Tanzania. The role focuses on EMR implementation, data infrastructure, analytics and visualization to improve HIV/AIDS program outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Support EMR (CTC2) use in EGPAF‑supported facilities and implement quality‑assurance strategies to improve data completeness and accuracy.
• Maintain and enhance data infrastructure, including mHealth solutions for real‑time data transmission and reporting.
• Develop, customize and maintain applications and dashboards using Power BI, Tableau and other open‑source platforms.
• Collaborate with end‑users to identify data‑management needs and provide training on standard operating procedures.
• Conduct routine data validation, analytics and reporting for quarterly and ad‑hoc program reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Information Technology, Data Science or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in database administration, data engineering, application development or health informatics.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with experience engaging stakeholders.
• Professional certifications in databases, cloud technologies or analytics are an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SQL, Python and Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with data‑visualisation tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
• Knowledge of relational database design, ETL processes and cloud‑based data solutions.
• Familiarity with programming languages (Java, PHP, DAX) and data capture/validation systems.
• Understanding of mHealth solutions and EMR platforms (CTC2).
