IP Planner and Operations Engineer (2‑Year Contract)

About the role

Vodafone is looking for an IP Planner and Operations Engineer to maintain and support its IP/MPLS network. You will work closely with internal and external customers to ensure operational excellence, network security, and continuous improvement of the IP environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end IP/MPLS network operations to meet KPI targets, including preventive, reactive and corrective maintenance.
• Apply vendor‑recommended updates and ensure network security standards are upheld.
• Maintain up‑to‑date schematics, configurations and software versions, focusing on automation and future‑ready architectures.
• Monitor critical services and links, trigger alerts when thresholds are reached, and plan upgrades efficiently.
• Drive network operation processes such as alarm handling, change control, incident management, root‑cause analysis and reporting.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in telecommunications operations.
• University degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience working with multiple vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Huawei).
• Strong business acumen, problem‑analysis skills and effective communication.
• Willingness to work outside normal hours when required.

Required skills

• IP/MPLS network design and troubleshooting.
• Hands‑on experience with Cisco, Juniper and Huawei equipment.
• Network security knowledge.
• Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, JNCA, CCNSP or CCNSE.
• IP services operation.
