Head of Sales

About the role

A manufacturing client based in Dar es Salaam is looking for a Head of Sales to lead its sales department and drive revenue growth and market expansion across its plastic and metal manufacturing product lines. The role suits a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills who can build strong customer relationships in the industrial sector.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement sales strategies to meet revenue targets and grow market share.
• Lead, mentor and manage the sales team to deliver high performance and sales goals.
• Identify new business opportunities and expand into new markets and customer segments.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
• Prepare accurate sales forecasts and report regularly on sales performance to senior management.
• Work with marketing, production and logistics teams to align efforts and ensure smooth product delivery.
• Maintain thorough product knowledge to communicate value propositions to customers.
• Monitor sales metrics, set targets and take corrective action where needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related field; a Master's degree or MBA is a plus.
• Minimum 10 years of sales experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in manufacturing or industry.
• Proven track record of developing and executing successful sales strategies.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Fluency in English and Swahili is preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office tools.
