Head of Operations – Airport Services

About the role

dnata Zanzibar is seeking a Head of Operations to lead all airport operational departments at Abeid Amani Karume International Airport. You will be responsible for delivering safe, compliant and cost‑effective flight handling while driving operational excellence across customer service, aircraft appearance, turnaround, baggage, load control and cargo.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all airport operational departments to ensure safe, compliant and cost‑effective flight handling.
• Develop, cascade and implement the Airport Operations strategy and departmental plans.
• Establish policies, systems, processes and controls to meet operational, regulatory and legislative requirements.
• Lead budget preparation, consolidation and financial performance monitoring.
• Drive high service standards for airlines, cargo agents and private customers.
• Represent dnata in large‑scale Group business initiatives and ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal departments, airport authorities and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in airport or aviation operations.
• Strong understanding of regulatory, safety and legislative requirements in aviation.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and achieve profitability.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
