Head of Corporate Banking

About the role

We are seeking an accomplished Head of Corporate Banking to lead the corporate and institutional banking portfolio for a leading commercial bank in Tanzania. The role focuses on driving sustainable growth, expanding high‑value client relationships, and delivering innovative financial solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership to achieve revenue, profitability, and portfolio growth targets.
• Develop and execute business development strategies to expand the corporate client base across corporate, public sector, financial institutions, and multinational segments.
• Drive growth of corporate lending, trade finance, cash management, treasury, and other value‑added services.
• Build and maintain long‑term relationships with key corporate clients, ensuring exceptional customer experience.
• Collaborate with product specialists and cross‑functional teams to deliver integrated solutions and increase cross‑selling.
• Lead strategic client engagements, joint visits, business reviews, and negotiations.
• Monitor portfolio quality, profitability, and performance, implementing improvement strategies.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to the relationship management team.
• Oversee credit underwriting, ensuring compliance with the bank’s risk framework.
• Prepare and present performance reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates.

Required profile

• Proven track record in corporate banking, business development, and portfolio management.
• Strong leadership experience with high‑performing teams.
• Deep understanding of corporate lending, trade finance, cash management, and treasury products.
• Ability to build long‑term client partnerships and drive revenue growth.
• Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills.
