Group Head of Finance

About the role

The Group is seeking a commercially driven finance leader to head its Finance function across multiple business units in Tanzania and East Africa. This senior position blends strategic insight with hands‑on execution to drive profitability, cash flow strength and sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Group Finance function across all business entities.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and management reports.
• Provide strategic financial and commercial advice to senior management.
• Drive profitability, cost optimisation and operational efficiency initiatives.
• Strengthen cash‑flow management, treasury and working‑capital processes.
• Develop and enhance internal controls, financial systems and compliance procedures.
• Manage banking relationships and financing activities.
• Support business expansion, investments and strategic projects.
• Build, mentor and lead high‑performing finance teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent (essential).
• MBA or other postgraduate qualification (advantage).
• 5–10 years of progressive experience in a senior finance leadership role.
• Experience within a diversified group of companies is highly desirable.
• Strong expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, cash‑flow management and FP&A.
• Proven ability to partner with business leaders and influence commercial decision‑making.
• Excellent leadership, analytical and communication skills.
