Financial Controller – Travel & Tourism (Dar es Salaam)

About the role

CNS Group is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead the finance function of its growing travel & tourism business in Dar es Salaam. The role will ensure compliance with local regulations, provide strategic financial insight and maintain robust internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all financial and accounting operations in compliance with IFRS and Tanzanian regulations.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
• Manage cash flow, working capital and financial risks.
• Ensure compliance with TRA tax requirements, including VAT, PAYE and statutory obligations.
• Develop and strengthen internal financial controls and policies.
• Supervise accounting staff and support branch financial operations.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support management decision‑making.
• Coordinate with auditors, banks and regulatory authorities as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.
• Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant finance and accounting experience.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and Tanzanian tax regulations (VAT, PAYE).
• Proficiency with accounting software/ERP systems.
• Expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.
• Ability to develop and maintain internal controls and policies.
