Financial Controller – Tanzania (Dar es Salaam)

About the role

The Financial Controller will build and lead the finance function for Mogo’s Tanzania operations. Based in Dar es Salaam, you will be responsible for the full spectrum of financial reporting, accounting procedures and integration with the Eleving Group ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain robust accounting policies, procedures and reporting processes.
• Prepare and own monthly P&L, balance sheet and cash‑flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to local and regional stakeholders to support commercial decisions.
• Manage relationships with auditors, tax authorities and other financial partners.
• Collaborate with the regional headquarters finance team for seamless integration into the group’s financial system.
• Lead initiatives to improve accounting and financial performance.
• Monitor compliance with local regulations and international accounting standards, mitigating financial risks.

Required profile

• Higher education in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business Administration.
• Relevant experience in finance, accounting, business administration or project management.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and detail‑orientation skills.
• Excellent English communication and ability to work under tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Understanding of IFRS accounting principles (balance sheet, P&L, cash flow).
• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Familiarity with financial software and databases.
