Finance Operations & Business Excellence Manager (M-Pesa)

About the role

Vodafone is seeking a Finance Operations & Business Excellence Manager to lead M-Pesa finance functions. You will be responsible for accurate reporting, strong financial controls, and continuous process improvement across the Mobile Money portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly management accounts, annual financial statements, budgets, forecasts and long‑term plans, delivering variance analysis to executive and board stakeholders.
• Oversee margin accounting, revenue recognition, cost allocation, receivables and profitability analysis for Mobile Money products and channels.
• Define and execute the business excellence roadmap, improving end‑to‑end processes, strengthening controls and driving automation to reduce manual work.
• Govern shared‑service delivery for procure‑to‑pay, cash management, travel & expenses, asset accounting, tax inputs, reconciliations, regulatory compliance and audit actions.
• Partner with Commercial, Product, Technology, Risk, Operations, regulators, auditors, banks and service providers to support business performance and lead a high‑performing finance team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field from a recognised institution.
• Minimum five years of experience in finance operations, financial reporting, management accounting, budgeting or forecasting.
• Strong commercial judgement, strategic thinking and business acumen.
• Proven ability to analyse data, produce performance reports and provide insight‑led decision support.
• Experience in process improvement, business transformation and automation delivery.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, influencing and people‑development skills.
