Finance Officer

About the role

The Finance Officer will execute core operational finance activities for our Tanzania operations, ensuring accurate, timely and compliant day‑to‑day financial processing. This role supports local statutory compliance, basic reporting and audit preparation while aligning with global finance policies.

Key responsibilities

• Process payments, verify expenses, manage petty cash and perform bank reconciliations.
• Coordinate bookkeeping, review invoices and support the monthly close process.
• Maintain accurate transaction records and supporting documentation.
• Handle local statutory filings, payroll administration and tax documentation, ensuring vendor compliance.
• Prepare and submit monthly financial reports, budget tracking and donor expense documentation.
• Collect and consolidate data for global reporting and forecasting cycles.
• Gather audit documentation, support audit preparation and maintain audit‑ready files.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
• At least 3 years of operational finance experience, preferably in NGOs or donor‑funded projects.
• Working knowledge of Tanzanian statutory, tax and payroll requirements.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability and ability to work in a matrixed, remote‑global environment.
