Finance Officer

About the role

Kuwa Pay is seeking a responsible and detail‑oriented Finance Officer to join its fintech team in Dar es Salaam. The role involves managing financial operations related to mobile money, telecom and cross‑border payments, ensuring compliance with tax and statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Reconcile company transaction records, including bank statements, internal system records, and channel/operator statements.
• Communicate with banks, mobile money operators, payment partners, and the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) as needed.
• Follow up monthly collection details, settlement reports, VAT invoices and supporting documents.
• Calculate payroll and handle statutory payments such as social security, health insurance, payroll taxes, VAT and other government fees.
• Support tax compliance and ensure timely statutory filings and payments.
• Perform any other finance‑related duties required by the company.

Required profile

• 2–3+ years of relevant finance experience in a financial institution, mobile money operator, telecom operator, PSP or payment‑related company.
• Good understanding of mobile‑payment taxes and general corporate tax obligations.
• Familiarity with TRA communication, government payment deadlines, statutory filing dates and compliance requirements.
• Ability to communicate and write fluently in English.
• Strong communication skills when dealing with banks, operators, TRA and external partners.
• High sense of responsibility, attention to detail and excellent time‑management.
