Finance Manager – P2P and Opex Accounting

About the role

The Finance Manager – P2P and Opex Accounting is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate supplier payments, managing the travel and expense process, and overseeing operating expense accounting in the company’s financial records. The role is part of the Finance Operations (FinOps) team and works closely with Vodafone Shared Services, Margin Accounting, Intercompany teams and other finance and commercial stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices, match them with purchase orders and delivery receipts, and ensure accurate recording.
• Manage the supplier payment schedule to optimise cash flow and capture early‑payment discounts while complying with internal policies and tax regulations.
• Handle supplier discrepancies or disputes promptly and maintain audit‑ready payment records.
• Monitor and enforce Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with business units and collaborate with procurement to improve invoice processing efficiency.
• Drive automation and continuous‑improvement initiatives across the Procure‑to‑Pay process.
• Oversee the Intercompany (ICO) invoicing, payments and SLA management with shared service teams.
• Monitor and record operating expenses against approved budgets, perform month‑end close activities, Opex accruals and reconciliations.
• Analyse Opex trends, identify cost‑saving opportunities and produce monthly Opex analysis reports, including GRIR, travel & expenses, manual payments and one‑time vendor data.
• Ensure accurate accounting of travel and expense claims in line with Vodafone Group policy and oversee policy implementation.
• Monitor T&E submissions for compliance, accuracy and timely reimbursement, and implement process improvements.
• Oversee month‑end journals, balance‑sheet reconciliations and ensure end‑to‑end correctness of transactions.
• Maintain adherence to internal controls, company policies and external regulatory requirements, and support internal and external audits.
