Finance Manager – Logistics (Dar es Salaam)

About the role

The Finance Manager will lead the accounting and financial operations for a logistics client in Dar es Salaam. This senior position ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with tax regulations, and provides strategic insight to senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily activities of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare, supervise, and review financial statements to guarantee accuracy and compliance with applicable standards.
• Coordinate internal and external audit processes and implement audit recommendations.
• Develop, implement, and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and financial software systems.
• Prepare tax returns, ensure full compliance with local tax laws, and submit statutory filings on time.
• Communicate financial performance, risks, and issues to senior management and the Board of Directors.
• Conduct financial analysis to support strategic planning and decision‑making.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in senior finance roles such as Chief Accountant, Senior Accountant, or Finance Manager.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) highly preferred.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, taxation, auditing, and regulatory compliance.
• Proficiency with accounting and financial management software.
• In‑depth understanding of local tax laws and statutory filing requirements.
