About the role
Kivulini Women’s Rights Organization, together with Global Communities, is hiring District GBV Program Officers to support the Community‑Based Social Norms Change and Gender‑Based Violence Prevention Program across 13 districts in Tanzania. The role involves embedding within local implementation councils to ensure high‑quality delivery of the Bandebereho couples‑based GBV prevention model.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate with local officials, Ward/Village Executive officers and Women and Children Protection Committees for community entry, facilitator recruitment and session logistics.
- Mentor community facilitators using fidelity checklists, provide real‑time feedback, and support cascade training of district officers.
- Facilitate reflection sessions, document adaptation needs, and support monitoring, evaluation, and learning data collection.
- Uphold safeguarding standards, refer disclosures of violence, and prepare regular district progress reports.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Gender Studies, Sociology, Social Work, Community Development or related field.
- Experience implementing community‑based GBV or social‑norms change programs in Tanzania.
- Strong understanding of GBV prevention, gender norms, safeguarding principles and survivor‑centered approaches.
- Demonstrated ability to work with local government authorities and community structures.
Required skills
- Fluency in Kiswahili and good written English.
- Facilitation, mentoring and supportive supervision skills for frontline workers.
- Basic data collection and reporting ability.
