Customer Service Officer

About the role

The British Council is looking for a Customer Service Officer to support the delivery of Exams and Customer Services operations in Tanzania. You will act as the front‑line ambassador, providing high‑quality service, handling enquiries and helping achieve sales and KPI targets.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver a consistent customer experience across all channels, handling enquiries, registrations and maintaining accurate CRM records.
• Act as the first point of contact, resolve or escalate issues, support information sessions and manage social‑media interactions.
• Achieve sales, conversion and income targets by building relationships, following up leads and identifying cross‑selling opportunities.
• Support examination services through candidate registration, payment processing, data management and complaint resolution.
• Perform any additional administrative duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• Higher Diploma or equivalent professional experience.
• Proven experience as a customer service and sales executive.
• Strong understanding of marketing and negotiation techniques.
• Fast learner with a self‑motivated, results‑driven approach.

Required skills

• Experience with CRM software.
