Credit Control Manager – Dar es Salaam

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Credit Control Manager to lead and develop our credit control team in Dar es Salaam. The role focuses on ensuring timely collection of payments, reducing overdue accounts, and maintaining strong client relationships while supporting the company’s financial health.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, train and motivate the credit control staff to achieve high performance.
• Establish performance metrics, KPIs and collection targets, and monitor progress.
• Ensure timely collection of current and overdue accounts and handle escalated payment disputes.
• Develop and enforce credit assessment policies, payment terms and collection procedures.
• Analyse accounts‑receivable aging reports and design strategies to reduce bad debt.
• Negotiate payment terms or settlement options with clients while preserving satisfaction.
• Prepare regular reports on collection performance, bad debts and aging accounts for senior management.
• Collaborate with sales, customer service and account managers to align credit decisions.
• Take legal action or engage collection agencies when necessary.
• Train the team on best practices, negotiation techniques and credit management tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience leading or supervising a collections or credit control team.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
