Chief Operations Officer – Tanzania

About the role

The Chief Operations Officer will lead commercial growth, sales execution and day‑to‑day operations across Tanzania and other markets, reporting to the CEO and Board.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute sales and go‑to‑market strategies, build a strong pipeline and lead high‑value deals.
• Establish and manage strategic partnerships with banks, fintechs and other ecosystem players.
• Translate corporate strategy into operational plans, optimise processes and ensure scalable service delivery.
• Own customer success, drive adoption, reduce churn and expand revenue through upselling.
• Lead a multicultural, geographically dispersed team, fostering a high‑performance culture.
• Identify new market opportunities, design entry strategies and build local structures.

Required profile

• 10‑15 years of progressive leadership experience in sales, business development and operations.
• Proven track record of revenue growth in technology, SaaS, fintech or related B2B environments.
• Experience negotiating and closing large enterprise deals and building banking/fintech partnerships.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams across multiple countries.
• Strong understanding of recurring‑revenue and SaaS business models.
