CFS Equipment Technician

About the role

The CFS Equipment Technician ensures that all equipment and trucks at the Tanzania depot operate safely and efficiently. You will perform inspections, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, supporting the technical team to maximise equipment availability.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and servicing of depot trucks and equipment.
• Install, assemble, and test electrical components.
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on reach stackers, empty container handlers, forklifts and heavy‑duty trucks.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and manuals.
• Monitor equipment performance, safety standards and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, lifting and rotating systems.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Utilise diagnostic equipment and computer systems to identify machine/vehicle faults.

Required profile

• Technical diploma or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Proven experience in equipment maintenance within a logistics or industrial environment.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
• Attention to detail and a high safety awareness.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Electrical troubleshooting and repair.
• Hydraulic and pneumatic system maintenance.
• Use of diagnostic equipment and computer fault‑identification tools.
• Reading technical drawings, schematics and manuals.
• Preventive maintenance procedures for reach stackers, container handlers, forklifts and HD trucks.
