About the role
The Geology Technician will support underground mining operations at Bulyanhulu Gold Mine by monitoring daily ore production, conducting geological and geotechnical sampling, and delivering accurate data to the exploration team.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor daily underground ore production, ore movement tracking and underground stockpile sampling.
- Perform geological face sampling, daily ore headings, backsight marking and stopes inspections.
- Coordinate daily drilling logistics, mobilise crews, and ensure availability of safety gear and consumables.
- Conduct RC, soil, trench and stream sampling, core orientation, drill core sampling and geological measurements.
- Supervise field work, prepare and dispatch samples following QA/QC procedures.
- Maintain accurate data entry, organised filing systems and provide timely geological reports.
- Assist geologists with field mapping, drill site inspections and geotechnical measurements.
Required profile
- Commitment to follow all documented Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) policies.
- Ability to work safely in an underground mining environment.
- Strong attention to detail for sample handling and data recording.
- Experience coordinating field crews and managing drilling logistics.
