Capital Controller

About the role

The Capital Controller will lead financial control of capital expenditure (CAPEX) for Bulyanhulu Gold Mine. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the role ensures that all capital projects and investments are accurately recorded, monitored, and reported in line with company policies and accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and monitor the CAPEX portfolio, preparing budgets, forecasts and variance analysis.
• Review and control project spend against approved budgets and business cases.
• Ensure accurate accounting and reporting of capital projects and fixed assets.
• Perform monthly CAPEX reconciliations, monitor commitments, purchase orders, invoices and accruals.
• Provide financial analysis and reporting to management on capital projects.
• Support internal and external audits related to CAPEX and fixed assets.
• Collaborate with project managers, procurement, engineering, operations and finance teams.
• Identify financial risks, control weaknesses and opportunities to improve CAPEX processes.
• Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (CPA(T), CIMA, ACCA) is advantageous.
• 3–5+ years of experience in financial control, management accounting or capital accounting.
• Experience in mining, minerals, metals, engineering or heavy‑industrial sectors preferred.
