Finance Manager – Dar es Salaam

About the role

GIZ Tanzania is looking for a Finance Manager to join its Service Unit in Dar es Salaam. The role supports project teams with financial planning, budgeting, reporting and contract management, ensuring compliance with donor and internal requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Advise project managers and technical teams on financial and administrative matters, including contract management, financing, compliance and value‑for‑money assessments.
• Prepare budgets, cost calculations and annual financial reports using SAP S/4HANA and MS‑Excel.
• Monitor fund flows, support internal and external audits, and handle contract monitoring and receivable clearing.
• Coordinate with GIZ Head Office on international contracts and grant agreements, and ensure timely extension of service contracts.
• Provide regular financial information to the Head of Service Unit and collaborate with other finance managers across East Africa.

Required profile

• University degree in Business Administration or a comparable qualification.
• 3–5 years of experience in audit, banking or controlling within an international organization.
• Fluent in Swahili and English; German is a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA (or other ERP systems).
