Assistant General Manager – 5★ Beachfront Resort in Zanzibar

About the role

Iberostar Group is seeking an Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager of the new Iberostar Selection Zanzibar, a 5‑star beachfront resort located in Muyuni, Matemwe. The role focuses on ensuring operational excellence, financial performance, and guest satisfaction while upholding brand standards.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor service quality and product delivery across all hotel departments.
• Ensure the resort’s image aligns with brand guidelines and maintain facilities to the required standard.
• Provide direct guest service, handling inquiries, complaints, and special requests.
• Assist in resolving extraordinary situations, union matters, and health‑and‑safety issues.
• Supervise compliance with local legislation and corporate CSR policies.
• Support the General Manager during inspections by authorities.
• Collaborate with Operations and General Management by supplying relevant performance data.
• Manage staffing levels, budgeting, revenue targets, and expense control.
• Participate in annual budget preparation and staff development initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in hotel or resort management, preferably at a senior or mid‑level.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, and cost control.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to resolve guest and employee issues.
• Knowledge of local labor regulations and health‑and‑safety standards.
• Commitment to corporate social responsibility and brand standards.
