Accounts Receivable Accountant

About the role

The Accounts Receivable Accountant will join Kisma Transport’s finance team in Kigamboni, Dar es Salaam. This full‑time, on‑site position ensures accurate billing, timely collection, and proper reconciliation of customer accounts to support strong cash‑flow management.

Key responsibilities

• Generate and issue customer invoices and record payments.
• Maintain and reconcile the accounts‑receivable ledger.
• Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on overdue accounts.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies with internal teams and customers.
• Prepare regular aging reports and support month‑end closing activities.
• Assist audit requests and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Required profile

• Strong accounting and finance background with experience in accounts receivable and general ledger processes.
• Analytical mindset to review discrepancies and interpret financial data.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Post‑secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field; CPA or working toward designation is a plus.
• Attention to detail, ability to prioritize tasks, and commitment to data confidentiality.

Required skills

• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
