Accounts Executive – Finance Operations in Dar es Salaam

About the role

Shugulika Africa Limited is looking for a meticulous Accounts Executive to oversee financial operations for a technology integration client in Dar es Salaam. The role involves maintaining accurate records, ensuring statutory compliance, and supporting project cost control in a fast‑moving environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain up‑to‑date financial records and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual statements.
• Perform daily, weekly and monthly bank, supplier and general‑ledger reconciliations; monitor cash flow and foreign‑currency transactions.
• Prepare and submit all statutory returns (TRA, VAT, PAYE, SDL, WHT) and process payroll in line with Tanzanian regulations.
• Track project costs, allocate expenses correctly, analyse profitability and suggest cost‑saving measures.
• Support internal and external audits by providing complete documentation and ensuring adherence to internal controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional certification such as CPA or ACCA is an advantage.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
• Strong knowledge of Tanzanian tax and statutory requirements.
• High level of integrity and strong analytical/problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems, specifically Vision Accounting Package or similar.
• Proficiency with Zoho systems.
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
• Competence in MS Office suite.
• Experience using CRM tools.
