Accountant – Banking & Finance (Dar es Salaam)

About the role

The Accountant will join the Banking & Finance department of ITM Tanzania Limited in Dar es Salaam, overseeing financial records, reporting, and compliance with a focus on construction project accounting.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate daily transaction records in line with International Accounting Standards.
• Monitor cash flow, perform bank reconciliations, and manage petty cash and treasury operations.
• Prepare and file statutory returns and regulatory submissions on time.
• Implement internal controls to protect assets and ensure policy compliance.
• Support internal and external audits with required documentation.
• Assist in budgeting, financial planning, and variance analysis.
• Produce financial and management reports for decision‑making.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide timely financial information.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including AP, AR, and payroll.
• Manage full‑cycle asset accounting and project‑based accounting for construction projects, tracking costs, budgets, and expenditures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• CPA qualification.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience, preferably in the construction industry.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
