Music Teacher – Full‑time, Dar es Salaam

About the role

Koshumas Training Institute is seeking a full‑time Music Teacher to join its Dar es Salaam campus. You will design and deliver engaging music lessons for learners of varying ages and skill levels, supporting both artistic growth and personal development.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver music lessons covering theory, practical performance, ear training and basic composition.
• Develop lesson plans and teaching materials tailored to different ages and abilities.
• Prepare learners for assessments, recitals and examinations, providing constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress and achievement.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and school events.
• Foster an inclusive, disciplined and creative classroom environment.

Required profile

• Strong performance skills on an instrument or voice, including ensemble playing and sight‑reading.
• Solid knowledge of music theory, ear training and basic arranging/composition.
• Proven teaching and classroom‑management abilities, adaptable to various ages and skill levels.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to motivate learners.
• Organizational and planning skills for lesson preparation and event coordination.
• Passion for using music as a tool for empowerment and social impact.
• Relevant training or certification in music education; diploma or degree is an advantage.
• Prior teaching experience in a school, institute or private setting preferred.
