Senior Regional Technical Officer, Supply Chain Kilimanjaro

About the role

The Senior Regional Technical Officer (SRTO) will provide hands‑on technical leadership, mentorship and systems support to strengthen supply chain management for HIV/AIDS and TB commodities across Tanzania’s mainland and Zanzibar. Based in Kilimanjaro, the SRTO acts as a bridge between Ministry of Health entities, implementing partners and health facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day technical expertise on commodity management at regional, council and facility levels, supporting bottom‑up quantification and integration into national plans.
• Monitor stock status, analyse inventory trends and coordinate actions to prevent stock‑outs, expiries and overstocks.
• Strengthen use of eLMIS, DHIS2, GoTHOMIS and related tools for accurate, timely reporting and data‑driven decision‑making.
• Mentor health‑facility pharmacists, clinicians and supply‑chain staff on stock management, ordering, redistribution and rational use of medicines.
• Facilitate collaboration with MSD, TMDA, CMS, ZFDA and the Pharmacy Council to institutionalise best pharmaceutical practices.

Required profile

• Degree in Pharmacy, Supply Chain Management, Public Health or related field (master’s preferred).
• Minimum eight (8) years of experience supporting public lifesaving‑commodity supply chains, pharmaceutical management or health‑systems strengthening.
• Demonstrated expertise with e‑LMIS, CTC2 Database, Pharmacy modules in DHIS2, BUQ and GoTHOMIS.
• Experience working with the Tanzania Ministry of Health, USG‑funded projects and other donor‑funded health programmes.
