Senior Project Associate (MECC)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Senior Project Associate to support the Resilience and Climate‑Induced Displacement (RE2CLID) programme in the Kigoma Region of Tanzania. Working under the supervision of the Heads of Programme and the Project Officer (MECC/DRR), the incumbent will help coordinate field‑level activities, monitor implementation, and engage stakeholders to advance community‑driven resilience and recovery.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in day‑to‑day implementation of field activities and maintain liaison with local authorities, community representatives, service providers and partners.
• Support inclusive community engagement processes, consultations and capacity‑building activities, ensuring participation of diverse and displacement‑affected groups.
• Facilitate coordination and information‑sharing to align community priorities with local planning and programme actions.
• Contribute to preparedness, risk‑management and early‑warning activities by mapping communication channels and community structures.
• Support assessments and evidence‑generation activities for programme monitoring and reporting.

Required profile

• Experience supporting field‑level coordination of humanitarian or climate‑related projects.
• Proven ability to work with local authorities, community groups and multiple partners.
• Strong understanding of inclusive community engagement and capacity‑building approaches.
