Human Resources Executive

About the role

Car & General Trading Limited is seeking a dynamic Human Resources Executive to support its HR & Administration department in Dar es Salaam. The role involves managing recruitment, employee relations, payroll, compliance, performance management and training to foster a positive workplace culture.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate recruitment and selection processes, prepare job ads, shortlist candidates, conduct interviews and reference checks.
• Manage employee onboarding and induction programmes.
• Handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters and support conflict‑resolution initiatives.
• Maintain employee records, personnel files and HR documentation.
• Prepare employment contracts, manage leave administration and attendance records.
• Coordinate payroll processing and ensure timely remittance of PAYE, NSSF, WCF, NHIF and other statutory deductions.
• Ensure compliance with the Tanzania Employment and Labour Relations Act and other labour laws.
• Facilitate performance appraisal cycles, identify training needs and organise development programmes.
• Promote health and safety initiatives and support HR audits and regulatory inspections.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Law or related field.
• Professional HR certification is an advantage.
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in Human Resources.
• Strong knowledge of Tanzanian labour laws and HR best practices.
• Experience with payroll administration and statutory compliance.
