Agronomist – Technical Agricultural Advisor

About the role

We are looking for an Agronomist to join Kilimo Trade Portal’s team and provide technical agricultural advice to farmers across Tanzania. The role involves creating agronomic content for our digital platform, supporting farmer verification, and collaborating with extension officers and other stakeholders to enhance market linkage and value‑chain development.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver on‑site and remote technical advice to farmers on crop production and best agronomic practices.
• Develop and curate crop production and agronomy content for the KTP platform.
• Assist with farmer verification processes and conduct field assessments.
• Engage with extension officers, cooperatives, and other agricultural stakeholders to promote platform services.
• Contribute to training programmes, market‑linkage initiatives and value‑chain development activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, Agribusiness, Crop Science or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of Tanzanian agricultural systems and value chains.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
• Ability to work independently and conduct field work when required.
• Experience with farmers, cooperatives or agricultural projects is an advantage.
