Sales Specialist (FMCG Route Sales)

About the role

The Sales Specialist will manage daily market visits, develop new customers and maintain existing relationships across assigned routes in Tanzania. The role focuses on achieving sales targets, promoting key products, and ensuring proper brand execution in retail outlets.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily market visits according to company‑defined routes, meeting customer visit and coverage targets.
• Develop new customers, maintain existing relationships, and increase customer loyalty.
• Achieve company‑set sales targets, promote key and new products, and grow sales per outlet.
• Ensure product displays, price tags, POP materials and promotional activities are correctly executed.
• Collect competitor pricing, promotions, market anomalies, and customer complaints; submit daily sales reports.
• Attend morning meetings, training sessions and comply with attendance and market regulations.

Required profile

• Age 20‑35 years, diploma or higher education.
• Basic communication ability in English or Swahili.
• Experience in the Tanzanian local market preferred.
• Prior FMCG sales experience (cosmetics, food, beverages, hygiene products) and familiarity with wholesale and retail channels.

Required skills

• Strong customer communication and negotiation abilities.
• Proactive customer development and execution capability to meet KPIs.
• Familiarity with local market routes and ability to identify sales opportunities.
• Competence in using mobile devices to submit orders and daily reports.
