Reconciliation Officer

About the role

The Reconciliation Officer ensures that all financial transactions, settlement records, payroll processes and statutory filings are accurately reconciled and maintained in line with internal controls and reporting standards. This role supports the finance team by delivering timely, audit‑ready reconciliation reports and assisting with budgeting and financial analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily three‑way reconciliations between transaction logs, settlement statements and bank account records.
• Conduct monthly reconciliations of merchant, settlement, float and suspense accounts.
• Identify, investigate and escalate discrepancies, ensuring prompt resolution.
• Maintain suspense account controls and resolve outstanding items within operational timelines.
• Process payroll calculations, including PAYE, NSSF and NHIF deductions.
• Prepare and submit statutory returns and payroll‑related filings on schedule.
• Maintain accurate financial document archives and produce audit‑ready reconciliation reports.
• Prepare daily reconciliation summaries and float balance reports for management review.
• Support budgeting, financial reporting, fee income analysis and audit preparation.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Commerce or Finance.
• CPA studies (ongoing or completed) is an advantage.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting, finance or reconciliation.
• Experience with payroll processing and statutory filing procedures.
• Strong numerical accuracy, analytical ability and high attention to detail.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks or Tally.
