Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Tanzania

About the role

The Group Chief Financial Officer will lead the financial strategy, governance and performance of a diversified group operating in manufacturing, trading and logistics across Tanzania and other geographies. Reporting to the Group CEO, the CFO acts as a key advisor on capital allocation, investment decisions and sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the group financial strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Provide strategic advice on investments, capital allocation and expansion initiatives.
• Oversee group consolidation, budgeting, forecasting and IFRS‑compliant reporting.
• Drive financial performance in manufacturing (cost control, COGS, capex efficiency), trading (working capital, margins, credit risk) and logistics (cost optimisation, supply‑chain efficiency).
• Manage treasury, cash‑flow, funding and banking relationships.
• Ensure strong governance, risk management and regulatory compliance across all jurisdictions.
• Lead audit, tax and statutory compliance, and manage relationships with banks, investors, auditors and regulators.
• Drive finance transformation initiatives, including ERP implementation and analytics adoption.
• Build and lead a high‑performing group finance team.

Required profile

• CA / CPA / ACCA / CIMA qualification (mandatory); MBA or Master’s in Finance preferred.
• 15‑20+ years of finance experience with at least 5 years in CFO or senior finance leadership roles.
• Proven experience in diversified groups covering manufacturing, trading and logistics, preferably in Africa.
• Strong exposure to multi‑entity and multi‑country operations.
• High integrity, governance mindset and ability to operate in complex, fast‑paced environments.
