Legal Officer (Labor Law Specialist)

About the role

The Legal Officer will provide expert legal counsel on employment and labor matters for a workforce exceeding 200 employees. This role involves ensuring compliance with Tanzanian labor legislation and supporting HR outsourcing clients with practical legal solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and resolve labor disputes, representing the company before the Commission for Mediation and Arbitration (CMA) and Labor Courts.
• Draft, review, and advise on employment contracts, notices, legal opinions, and other statutory documents.
• Monitor legislative changes and advise management on necessary policy updates.
• Provide day‑to‑day legal support to HR and operational teams, ensuring compliance across all employee categories.
• Maintain detailed records of labor cases and ensure timely reporting to senior management.

Required profile

• Active legal practitioner with a valid Practicing License from the Tanganyika Law Society.
• LLB degree from a recognized institution.
• Minimum four years of experience in labor law and litigation, handling a workforce of more than 200 employees.
• Age between 27 and 34 years.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and maintain high attention to detail.

Required skills
