HR Business Partner

About the role

The HR Business Partner will be a key driver of people operations for Jaza in Tanzania. Working closely with business leaders and employees, you will align HR practices with the company’s mission to deliver clean, affordable energy across Sub‑Saharan Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Manage complex employee relations issues, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and grievances.
• Ensure compliance with Tanzanian labour laws and internal HR policies, reducing legal risk.
• Lead the full performance management cycle – goal setting, mid‑year reviews, and year‑end evaluations.
• Partner with function leads on succession planning, talent reviews, and addressing skill gaps.
• Support talent acquisition, onboarding, and integration of new hires.
• Maintain accurate employee records across HRIS and payroll platforms and submit monthly payroll data.
• Prepare and manage employee documentation such as offer letters, contracts, and NDAs.
• Administer employee benefits and generate HR metrics reports for leadership.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Tanzanian labour legislation and HR best practices.
• Proven ability to handle employee relations matters and conduct investigations.
• Experience partnering with managers to drive performance and talent development.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Required skills

• Experience with HR information systems (HRIS) and payroll platforms.
