HR & Admin Manager

About the role

The HR & Admin Manager will lead all human resources and administrative functions for our operations in Tanzania and neighboring countries. This senior position requires building HR processes from the ground up and ensuring smooth day‑to‑day office operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end recruitment across Tanzania and surrounding regions, including job posting, screening, interviewing and maintaining local talent pipelines.
• Design and implement a performance evaluation system, set KPIs, and drive a performance‑based promotion and termination framework.
• Develop the Tanzania Employee Management Handbook, handle labor disputes, maintain contract ledgers, and oversee attendance, leave and business‑trip approvals.
• Calculate and disburse monthly payroll, manage social security and tax withholdings, control HR budget and introduce employee welfare initiatives.
• Oversee office procurement, vehicle leasing/purchasing, maintenance and refueling.
• Administer visa applications and renewals for Chinese staff in Tanzania and East Africa.
• Execute ad‑hoc tasks assigned by senior management.

Required profile

• Experience in Chinese‑invested enterprises is highly preferred.
• Proven ability to build HR systems from scratch (0‑to‑1).
• Self‑sufficient professional capable of independently managing local HR and administration while supporting regional recruitment.
