Fraud Investigator

About the role
PalmPay, a fast‑growing Pan‑African fintech, is looking for a proactive Fraud Investigator to conduct on‑the‑ground investigations related to fraud, recovery, customer defaults and other compliance matters. You will gather evidence, interview stakeholders, open police cases and produce detailed reports that support risk mitigation and decision‑making.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct field visits to investigate fraud, dispute and default cases.
- Gather, verify and document evidence through interviews, observations and official records.
- Collaborate with dealers, agents and local authorities to trace customers and recover assets.
- Prepare timely investigation reports with actionable recommendations.
- Ensure investigations comply with company policies, regulatory and legal requirements.
- Escalate high‑risk or complex cases to the Fraud & Investigation Manager.
- Support the recovery team by providing verified field information.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity when handling sensitive cases.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Criminology, Law, Business Administration, Security Studies or related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in field investigations, debt collection, compliance or law enforcement.
- Strong knowledge of fraud detection and investigative techniques.
- Familiarity with legal processes related to fraud, recovery and compliance.
