Fleet Manager

About the role

The Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire vehicle fleet, ensuring availability, compliance, and optimal performance to support the Transport Department's operations.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with Field Operations Services on all fleet‑related issues.
• Maintain electronic databases for sales, registration, inspections, and maintenance.
• Schedule and forecast fleet usage to meet user demand and special events.
• Ensure fleet operations comply with local and state regulations.
• Implement corrective actions and capacity‑building measures to achieve company objectives.
• Oversee vehicle and driver logbooks, licensing, renewals, and statutory registrations.
• Review and approve periodic fuel requests.
• Coordinate routine servicing, repairs, and documentation.
• Conduct periodic vehicle inspections, report incidents, and provide recommendations.
• Work with approved mechanic workshops for timely service of trucks.
• Prepare and submit monthly fleet reports.

Required profile

• First degree or equivalent in Transport and Logistics.
• Professional qualification in Transport and Logistics.
• At least eight years of experience in a generalist transport role.
• Strong problem‑solving, conflict‑resolution, and communication abilities.
• Performance‑driven and results‑oriented mindset.

Required skills

• SAP TMS, SAP MM, SAP SD.
• Proficiency with computer applications.
• Knowledge of manual and automated record‑management systems.
