Accounts Clerk – EU Delegation Tanzania

About the role

The European Union Delegation in Dar es Salaam is seeking a Local Agent to join its Administration Section as an Accounts Clerk (Group III). This fixed‑term position supports the Delegation’s financial management, ensuring accurate processing of invoices, payments and budget monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, verify and register incoming invoices and payment requests in the SUMMA financial system.
• Execute payments to local bank accounts, monitor outstanding transactions and manage petty‑cash accounts.
• Maintain contractor data, including legal entities, bank details and financial identification.
• Encode commitments and de‑commitments in the budget forecast and mission management software.
• Support preparation of routine financial reports and annual budget estimates.
• Follow EU Financial Regulation and internal procedures.

Required profile

• Local candidate able to work under the supervision of the Head of Administration Section.
• Willingness to adapt to changing tasks and occasional atypical working hours.
• Team player within a 13‑person administration team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the SUMMA financial system.
• Experience using budget forecast software.
• Familiarity with mission management software.
