Accounts Clerk – EU Delegation (Dar es Salaam)

About the role

The European Union Delegation in Dar es Salaam is seeking an Accounts Clerk to support the Administration Section. You will work under the Head of Administration, handling day‑to‑day financial operations in line with EU financial regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, verify and process incoming invoices and payment requests against contracts, purchase orders and other documentation.
• Register commercial invoices, credit notes and internal documents in the SUMMA financial system and ensure timely payment.
• Execute payments to local bank accounts and follow up on outstanding or non‑executed transactions.
• Maintain the contractor database, including legal entity details, bank accounts and financial identifiers.
• Encode commitments, de‑commitments and budget forecasts in the mission’s budgeting and accounting software.
• Manage petty‑cash accounts and reconcile cash balances.
• Monitor budget execution, adjust forecasts and prepare routine financial reports and annual budget estimates.

Required profile

• Experience in accounts management or financial administration, preferably in an international or diplomatic environment.
• Familiarity with EU financial regulations and internal procurement procedures.
• Ability to work accurately under supervision and meet strict deadlines.
• Good analytical skills for monitoring expenditures and preparing reports.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the SUMMA financial management system.
