Transport and Logistics Officer – Organic Cashew Export

About the role

The Transport and Logistics Officer will lead the planning, coordination and execution of all export logistics for organic cashew products. Based in Kisemvule, Pwani, the role ensures shipments comply with organic certification standards and Tanzanian export regulations while meeting customer delivery timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Arrange and book containers with freight forwarders, schedule shipments and monitor cargo movement from factory to port.
• Oversee container stuffing, sealing and loading in line with export standards.
• Prepare and manage export documents such as Bill of Lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, export permits and TRACES filings.
• Coordinate organic certification requirements, including Certificate of Inspection and TRACES documentation, and maintain traceability records.
• Obtain and verify regulatory certificates (phytosanitary, fumigation, atomic radiation) and ensure compliance with Tanzanian and international rules.
• Organise sampling, dispatch samples to approved laboratories and track test results.
• Serve as the primary contact for shipping agents, certification bodies, government authorities and internal teams, providing regular shipment updates.
• Manage inland transport to the port, optimise truck scheduling and control logistics costs.
• Maintain comprehensive records and prepare periodic reports on shipment status, costs and performance.
• Plan collection of raw cashew nuts from villages and coordinate transport to the processing facility.

Required profile

• Willingness to relocate to Kisemvule, Pwani.
• Experience in export logistics, preferably in agricultural or organic products.
• Familiarity with Tanzanian export regulations and organic certification processes.

Required skills

• Export documentation preparation (Bill of Lading, invoices, packing lists).
• Logistics coordination and transport management.
• Organic certification compliance, including TRACES system usage.
• Knowledge of phytosanitary and other regulatory certificates.
