About the role
PUMA seeks a Sportstyle Footwear Designer to translate retail partner briefs, commercial opportunities, and account strategies into compelling, on‑brand footwear concepts. The role focuses on color, materials, and storytelling for the SMU and key account business.
Key responsibilities
- Create footwear concepts, colorways, renderings, material maps, tech packs, and presentations to support product creation.
- Develop proactive seasonal design proposals, graphics, and storytelling tailored to strategic accounts and target consumers.
- Identify and execute relevant color, material, and finish trends that drive commercial success across key accounts.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Development, and cross‑functional teams to ensure design accuracy and successful project execution.
- Review prototypes and samples to confirm final products reflect original design intent and meet commercial objectives.
- Deliver projects in line with the PUMA development calendar and account milestones.
- Conduct market, consumer, fashion, and sneaker trend research to uncover new opportunities for account‑specific product creation.
- Participate in market visits, consumer research activities, and inspiration trips to gather insights for future concepts.
Required profile
- 3‑4 years of experience in footwear design, color & materials design, or a related role within sportswear, footwear, or lifestyle.
- Strong knowledge of the sport‑lifestyle industry, fabrics, and emerging technologies.
- Proven ability to create commercial footwear products and account‑specific executions.
- Excellent eye for color, materials, trends, and consumer‑relevant storytelling.
- Team‑player mentality with a proactive, collaborative approach.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Design, Footwear Design, Fashion Design, or a related field.
- Distinguished portfolio showcasing footwear design and color & materials expertise.
Required skills
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.
- Experience with digital or 3D design tools (a plus).
