Senior Technical Advisor – TB Services

About the role

The Senior Technical Advisor – TB Services will lead the design, implementation and scale‑up of high‑quality, integrated TB and TB/HIV services across EGPAF‑supported regions in Tanzania. Reporting to the Associate Technical Director, the role provides strategic technical guidance, mentorship and supervision to ensure alignment with national NTLP guidelines and sustainable program outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic and technical leadership for TB prevention, case finding, diagnosis, treatment, preventive therapy and TB/HIV integration.
• Lead development of TB technical strategies, work plans, performance improvement plans and differentiated technical assistance approaches.
• Strengthen TB screening, diagnosis, notification, treatment adherence and success across facility and community platforms.
• Support data‑driven performance monitoring, root‑cause analysis and continuous quality improvement.
• Coordinate with NTLP, regional health teams, councils and partners to harmonise TB interventions and represent the program in technical forums.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, Epidemiology or related field; Master’s degree highly desirable.
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience managing HIV/AIDS and TB programs in low‑resource settings, including supervision and donor reporting.
• Experience in clinical management of TB and TB/HIV co‑infection in adults and children.
• Strong interpersonal skills to engage government officials, partners and community stakeholders.
