Senior Technical Advisor – Continuum of Treatment

About the role

The Senior Technical Advisor – Continuum of Treatment will provide strategic technical leadership to strengthen HIV and TB treatment pathways across EGPAF-supported sites in Tanzania. The role focuses on data‑driven strategies to improve linkage, initiation, retention, adherence, viral suppression, TB treatment completion and re‑engagement of clients who interrupt treatment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of strategies, work plans and differentiated approaches to address gaps in the HIV/TB treatment continuum.
• Monitor retention milestones using routine data, identify bottlenecks in treatment cascades and guide targeted performance‑improvement actions.
• Provide technical assistance, coaching, mentorship and supportive supervision to regional, council and facility teams as well as community structures.
• Strengthen integration of facility and community mechanisms for client tracking, tracing and re‑engagement, using tools such as CTC2, DATIM and PBI dashboards.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Global Health, Health Systems, Nursing, Medicine or related field (Bachelor’s degree acceptable).
• Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in HIV/AIDS and/or TB programming, with proven expertise in treatment continuum, linkage, retention and client re‑engagement.
• Demonstrated experience leading technical assistance and performance‑improvement initiatives at regional, council, facility or community levels.

Required skills

• Data analysis and monitoring of HIV/TB treatment cascades.
• Use of DATIM, CTC2 and Power BI dashboards for performance tracking.
• Client tracking, tracing and re‑engagement systems (IIT/LTFU identification).
• Performance‑improvement methodology and root‑cause analysis.
