Senior High Voltage Sales Specialist – East Africa

About the role

As a Senior High Voltage Sales Specialist you will drive sales of high‑voltage generators, transformers, surge arrestors, disconnectors, power‑quality devices and cable accessories across Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. You will work within Hitachi Energy’s Sub‑Station Division, focusing on retrofit, extensions, upgrades and new containerised or mobile sub‑station solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve volume and profitability targets for assigned HV product groups.
• Develop and maintain long‑term relationships with transmission, mining and industrial customers.
• Prepare sales forecasts and plans using company tools, including Salesforce.com.
• Identify new market opportunities and drive cross‑collaboration.
• Coordinate offer preparation with bid and proposal teams, ensuring technical and financial accuracy.
• Support project administration and collection activities as needed.
• Promote Hitachi Energy’s safety and integrity values throughout the sales process.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience selling high‑voltage equipment or related grid solutions.
• Proven track record in achieving sales targets in the East African market.

Required skills

• Knowledge of high‑voltage generators, current transformers (CT), voltage transformers (VT), surge arrestors, disconnectors, power‑quality equipment and cable accessories.
• Experience with containerised and mobile sub‑station solutions.
• Familiarity with renewable‑energy engineered packages.
• Proficiency in Salesforce.com and sales forecasting tools.
• Ability to prepare technical and financial offers.
