Sales Team Leader – Arusha, Tanzania (Tanzania Nationals)

About the role

Our client, a leading manufacturer and distributor of premium food products, is looking for an experienced Sales Team Leader to head its sales operations in the Arusha region of Tanzania. The role focuses on driving revenue growth, expanding market coverage, and strengthening relationships with distributors and retailers.

Key responsibilities

• Implement regional sales strategies in partnership with the Regional Sales Manager.
• Allocate territories, routes and targets to maximise market coverage and revenue.
• Identify new business opportunities, markets, customers and product placements.
• Monitor sales performance, prepare reports and support inventory planning through accurate analysis.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, retailers and outlet managers.
• Resolve customer issues promptly to ensure high satisfaction.
• Lead, coach, mentor and develop the sales team to improve performance and product knowledge.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, Sales Force Automation standards and ethical practices.
• Manage allocated sales resources and budgets to maximise ROI.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Business Administration, Marketing or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in sales management, preferably in ice‑cream, confectionery or FMCG.
• Proven track record of leading high‑performing sales teams and achieving targets.
• Strong commercial acumen, analytical ability and customer‑relationship management experience.
• Excellent leadership, communication, coaching and negotiation skills.
