Sales Manager – East Africa

About the role

The Sales Manager for East Africa will lead the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) sales strategy for Meliá hotels across the region. You will work closely with the Area Director of Sales (DOS) to drive revenue growth, manage group business and ensure the delivery of the annual business plan.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Area DOS in developing and executing the MICE sales strategy for assigned hotels.
• Define quantitative and qualitative objectives for the Group Cluster team and internal sales of decentralized hotels.
• Achieve the MICE segment budget for room nights, room revenue, room rentals and F&B sales through management of the Group Quotation team.
• Prepare weekly projections, business reviews and re‑projections for the MICE segment.
• Produce regular group production reports by hotel and source of business for revenue management analysis.
• Supervise quotations for groups of 10+ rooms, aiming to maximise revenue from rooms, banqueting spaces and F&B.
• Analyse request conversion rates and define actions to improve business acquisition.
• Ensure negotiations, contracts and credit policies comply with Meliá’s standards and maintain the group business database in the FOCUS system.

Required profile

• Proven experience in hotel or MICE sales, preferably within a multi‑property environment.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to prepare budgets, forecasts and performance reports.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities to manage client contracts and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to lead and support a team of sales coordinators and quotation specialists.
• Willingness to travel across the East Africa region as required.
