Radiation Oncologist – Clinical Oncology Role

About the role

The Aga Khan Hospital in Dar es Salaam is seeking a dedicated Radiation Oncologist to join its expanding oncology department. You will be responsible for evaluating cancer diagnoses, creating individualized radiation therapy plans, and delivering treatment to patients in a high‑quality, JCI‑accredited environment.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose cancer patients and develop personalized radiation therapy plans.
• Administer radiation treatments according to prescribed protocols.
• Monitor patient responses, adjust treatment plans as needed, and document all procedures.
• Provide patient and family education on radiation therapy and its effects.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with JCIA patient safety standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary medical teams to deliver comprehensive care.
• Teach and mentor postgraduate surgery residents, interns, and junior specialists.
• Participate in clinical and academic activities, including quality cancer‑care projects.

Required profile

• Qualified and experienced Radiation Oncologist.
• Ability to diagnose, plan, and deliver radiation therapy.
• Experience in teaching and mentoring postgraduate residents and interns.
• Commitment to patient‑centered care and adherence to safety standards.
